Lady Gaga pulled a fast one on 'American Idol' producers this week, wearing a pair of booties with, well, Lucite male members for heels that made it onto viewers' screens.

Various media outlets (who probably couldn't sit through the clip) reported that GaGaloo's phallic footwear was covered up by an 'Idol' logo, however, here at HuffPost Style, we powered through the entire segment -- not necessarily something we're proud of -- and you can see her see-through shafts around the 4:38 mark.

So, what's the deal with Gaga's latest style statement? They're made by Void of Course and reportedly ring in around $4,500.

A three-headed Lady Gaga covers V magazine's 'Asian issue,' and inside, the songstress pens her much-awaited, first style column for the glossy. A few key excerpts:

Glam culture is ultimately rooted in obsession, and those of us who are truly devoted and loyal to the lifestyle of glamour are masters of its history. Or, to put it more elegantly, we are librarians. I myself can look at almost any hemline, silhouette, beadwork, or heel architecture and tell you very precisely who designed it first, what French painter they stole it from, how many designers reinvented it after them, and what cultural and musical movement parented the birth, death, and resurrection of that particular trend. So dear critics and bullies: get your library cards out, because I'm about to do a reading.

Okay, so she's better at this/life than we are. Then, the article takes a turn toward the philosophical:

There is no chicken or egg. It's molecular. Cells give birth to cells. To put it more bluntly, the Hussein Chalayan vessel I wore at the Grammys wasn't inspired by a chicken. It was stolen from an egg. But the transformation, the context, and the approach taken to reinterpret the meaning of birth and rebirth in terms of fame on a fucking red carpet -- this is what creates the modernity of the statement. The past undergoes mitosis, becoming the originality of the future.

Can I get that last sentence on a t-shirt, please? Then, there's her epiphany on the set of the 'Born This Way' video:

Accompanied with a side ponytail, it took me back to moments when I was just a little baby monster. When my mother would perch a pony high on my hair and we would dance so hard to the tape deck that the perfectly perched pony she fashioned would fall to the side. I had to take an uncomfortable journey back into high school, where my youth represented tears. Wishing I had a mask. Hoping that I could artistically hide the woulds buried deep from years of being bullied. I have since reckoned with this psychology in my performance art. But this time, the revelation was clear. I still want to wear the mask, but now I wear it proud, and with the same effervescence and innnocence I had when I was 6, dancing with my mom.

And wear that mask she does, on one of her faces, anyway.

Lady Gaga's 'Edge Of Glory' Is A 'Bold Move,' Co-Producer Says

Lady Gaga's 'Edge Of Glory' Is A 'Bold Move,' Co-Producer Says: "

'This record is all heart,' Fernando Garibay tells MTV News about the sax-driven record.

Lady Gaga's 'Edge of Glory' is an undeniably pure pop track. The Born This Way single dropped earlier this week, and the song's co-producer, Fernando Garibay, says he's still 'very surprised,' 'floored,' even, by the song's release.

'You know what's crazy, as we were making the record ... 'Born This Way' is a statement song, but here with 'Edge of Glory, it's very personal to her,' he explained. 'It is very personal and very real; it's a real moment. This record is all heart.'

Garibay worked on 'Edge of Glory' with Gaga and DJ White Shadow, who also revealed some details about the song to MTV News before its release, calling Gaga's vocal delivery on the track particularly moving. 'This song's had room for her too ... this is her natural tone. The vocal was one take,' White Shadow said. 'The whole thing from top to bottom was her, just backstage singing it all the way through.'

At the pop star's request, Garibay threw in a heartbeat and made sure during production that it was clear Gaga's 'finding acceptance in the bridge.' He added, 'It's a bold move on her part to put this out there the way it is, where the full version is intact [on the radio]. When was the last time you heard a musical solo sax break in the middle of a song on the radio? It was innovative as a song and it was totally guided by the emotions and the heart. That's what we did here. She wanted to put sax on it ... Her references were E Street Band and Bruce Springsteen, so the isolation of what the sax represents in the music dichotomy, what it represents in the whole spectrum of music,' he said of the saxophone section, which is actually played by E Street's Clarence Clemmons.

'And that's how we captured that feeling. It's like that moment of acceptance and letting go. ... She said, 'Dude, there's no boundary, go all the way.' Her soft side is just as intense and as emotional as her intense, hands-in-the-air side you see onstage,' he added.

Garibay couldn't even imagine what a video for the song might look like. 'We're all excited,' he said. It's always a surprise, but whatever it is, it's going to be epic. ... In this case, it's edgy because it's not edgy.'

Lady Gaga Confirms That She's Single: "

'I'm not dating. No, there's no boyfriend,' Gaga says on 'The Graham Norton Show.'

Lady Gaga is back on the market. The 'Judas' singer announced on the BBC's 'Graham Norton Show' that she is no longer dating longtime beau, New York bartender and diet book author Luc Carl.
In an episode airing Friday night (May 12), Gaga appears on the show in an avant-garde wedding gown and confesses, 'I'm not dating. No, there's no boyfriend. I'm miserably pathetic in my wedding dress.'

'I haven't been on any dates recently because I have been working so hard and I get very bored very quickly with men. I guess they would get freaked out by this wedding dress,' Gaga said, according to The Daily Mirror.

Gaga and Carl dated before she became an international sensation several years ago when she was performing on the Lower East Side, where he bartended, but they later split. They subsequently rekindled their romance, and Gaga reportedly told Grazia magazine that Luc Carl changed her views on sex.

'I never actually enjoyed sex until two years ago. It was a proper monogamous relationship in which I felt free enough to trust and I had enough self-love,' she explained. 'Sex is the ultimate expression of vulnerability, and for me it was important to know that it was a proper relationship so it was sex as a source of love and nothing else.'

In a recent interview with E! News, Gaga opened up about her single 'Judas' and how it was inspired by some of the loves in her life. She explained that the tune is 'essentially about me going back to an ex-boyfriend and still being in love with someone that betrayed me, someone that was bad for me.'

Lady Gaga Says 'Judas' Video 'Celebrates Faith'

Lady Gaga Says 'Judas' Video 'Celebrates Faith': "

' 'Judas' is a metaphor and an analogy about forgiveness and betrayal,' Gaga says of song and video.
By Jocelyn Vena

Next week, fans will finally get to see Lady Gaga's 'Judas' video, when it premieres during 'American Idol.' But while we wait, Gaga opened up about the video in a recent interview, giving fans a better sense of what they might see in the clip.

'Well, the video, in essence, suggests that forgiveness and betrayal are hand in hand,' she told MSN Entertainment in Canada. 'The video puts destiny above all things and postures that the mistakes in your life are in fact not mistakes at all, they are just part of your overarching potential and your destiny.'

Though she didn't want to give away the full concept, Gaga did describe the clip's biblical and cultural references. 'Well, I want to allow the video to speak for itself, but I will say that the theme of the video and the way that I wanted to aesthetically portray the story was as a motorcycle Fellini movie, where the apostles are revolutionaries in a modern-day Jerusalem. And I play Mary Magdalene, leading them into the town where we meet Jesus, and I will leave the rest for you to see,' she teased further about the video, which she co-directed with Laurieann Gibson. 'But it's meant more to celebrate faith than it is to challenge it.'

While there has been some debate about the song's use of religious icons, Gaga said she doesn't mean for it to be a direct interpretation of Bible stories. 'Well, I wouldn't necessarily say that my schooling [in Catholic school] informed the songwriting on that record in particular. 'Judas' is a metaphor and an analogy about forgiveness and betrayal and things that haunt you in your life, and how I believe that it's the darkness in your life that ultimately shines and illuminates the greater light that you have upon you,' she said.

"Someone once said to me, 'If you have no shadows then you're not standing in the light.' So the song is about washing the feet of both good and evil, and understanding and forgiving the demons from your past in order to move into the greatness of your future," she continued. "I just like really aggressive metaphors — harder, thicker, darker — and my fans do as well. So it is a very challenging and aggressive metaphor, but it is a metaphor."

Gaga said that Born This Way will be more about the religion of pop culture than anything taught in Sunday school.

'Well, I'm fascinated with iconography, and I'm fascinated with the way that iconography is taught in terms of education to the world, whether it be through institutionalized religion or through symbolism or through movies or through music,' she said.

'In a lot of ways it's about faith and hope, but not in the religious sense,' she added. 'It's about faith and hope in culture, especially in a time all over the world where many are in need of hope, in need of understanding, in need of love, in need of lack of prejudice, in need of no judgment, in need of acceptance. How can we look to culture for faith?'

Lady Gaga Says Fame Was Her 'Destiny' In New HBO Promo

Lady Gaga Says Fame Was Her 'Destiny' In New HBO Promo: "

'There was never a question in my mind that I was gonna make it,' singer says.
By Jocelyn Vena

Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage

In a new promo for her May 7 HBO special, Lady Gaga recalls her rise to fame. Sitting in a car, her pals by her side, the Mother Monster explains that she always knew she was going to make it and that she woke up one day 'and the delusion was real.'

'There was never a question in my mind that I was gonna make it and that this is my destiny and that we were all gonna make it as the kids of this city, as the New York generation,' she says, driving through the streets of New York to Madison Square Garden where she taped the concert portion of the special.

'My faith in my creativity and my artistry has nothing to do with making it,' she continued. 'We kind of had already made it when we were playing for nothing downtown. ... We still felt like we were superstars.'

She goes on to credit God for her success, as shots of her in the car are edited with ones of her in a deli getting coffee, walking down the street in a skimpy leotard and leather jacket, and greeting fans from her SUV. Later on, in the middle of a prayer, she says, 'They used to always tell me, 'You will never be a star because you're too ethnic, you're too Italian, you're too out there.' It doesn't matter who you are, or where you come from or how much money you've got in your pocket. You have your own destiny and your own life ahead of you.'

This is the latest tease for the special. On Monday, in a promo, Gaga cried about her lingering feelings of inadequacy. 'I start to think about all the people that have tried to stop me, and I get this super-intense fury. ... I just sometimes feel like a loser still,' she says. 'It's crazy 'cause we're at the Garden, but I still sometimes feel like a loser kid in high school. And I just got to pick myself up and I have to tell myself I'm a superstar every morning so that I can get through this day and be for my fans what they need for me to be. But sometimes I still feel like people are trying to destroy me.'

Previous teases have shown Gaga hitting the streets of New York, dressed in a studded leather jacket and high platform ankle boots, as 'Born This Way' plays in the background. That same promo showed the madness at MSG leading up to her show, footage of which is also in the clip. In the second, shorter preview, shots of her performance are revealed as her new single, 'Judas,' plays.

Do you want to help Lady Gaga give away $1 million dollars to charity? Well, little monsters, here's your chance! Mother Monster is hooking up with the Robin Hood Foundation to help homeless youth in New York, her hometown.

Fans can go to Gaga's Facebook page to weigh in on which organization — The Door, Hetrick-Martin Institute, Lawyers for Children, Safe Horizon or SCO Family of Services — will be gifted the sum ($500,000 a year over two years).

The results will be announced May 9 at a special concert benefiting Robin Hood. 'I'm thrilled to be working with the Robin Hood Foundation to distribute funds to help the youth of New York City,' Gaga said in a statement. 'NYC is my hometown and I think investing in these kids' future will go a long way.'

Days before Gaga attends the Robin Hood gala, her HBO special will air. While it is a concert special, it also serves as a love letter to the Big Apple. Shot during her time in New York for two tour stops at Madison Square Garden earlier this year, the documentary shows the singer opening up about her love for the city and how it helped shape her as an artist.

'There was never a question in my mind that I was gonna make it and that this is my destiny and that we were all gonna make it as the kids of this city, as the New York generation,' she says, driving through the streets of New York to MSG. 'My faith in my creativity and my artistry has nothing to do with making it,' she continued. 'We kind of had already made it when we were playing for nothing downtown. ... We still felt like we were superstars.'

'Glee' Covers 'Born This Way': The Story Behind The Song

'Glee' Covers 'Born This Way': The Story Behind The Song: "

McKinley High singers took on Lady Gaga's instant hit on this week's 90-minute episode.
By Aly Semigran

Lady Gaga's smash 'Born This Way' is a song that seemed almost tailor-made for 'Glee.' The track's inspirational lyrics, aimed in particular at the LGBT community, echo the very sentiment creator Ryan Murphy tries to convey each week on the popular series.

So it was of no surprise that Tuesday night's super-size 90-minute episode of 'Glee,' about self-love and acceptance — which happened to be titled "Born This Way" — featured Gaga's anthem about those very subjects. (The chorus urges, "Don't hide yourself in regret/ Just love yourself and you're set/ I'm on the right track, baby/ I was born this way.")

Gaga is no stranger to getting 'Glee' love, as the one-of-a-kind pop star was the subject of season one's 'Theatricality.' But before castmembers Chris Colfer, Amber Riley, Jenna Ushkowitz and Naya Rivera gave 'BTW' a 'Glee' twist, the song already made its mark on 2011's musical landscape. Released on February 11, two days earlier than its planned release, 'Born This Way' was the first single off of Lady Gaga's upcoming album of the same name.

The club-ready tune, which was penned by Gaga, Paul Blair, Jeppe Larson and Fernando Garibay, became an instant hit. It not only debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the 1,000th song to do so, but it also marked Gaga's seventh top 10 song in a row.

But that's not to say all of these impressive feats didn't come without some criticism. While the song garnered mostly positive reviews, at first listen many critics and experts said the song sounded similar to some other classic pop ditties, most notably Madonna's 'Express Yourself.'

For instance, John Polly of the Logo network told MTV News back in February, 'She seems to borrow pretty heavily, clearly visually, and sonically, from Madonna. Which is probably super smart, I mean, why wouldn't you?'

But that didn't stop Gaga (she argued to NME magazine that the only real similarity between her song and Madge's classic was the chord progression) and her Little Monsters from turning 'BTW' into an anthem. As her friend/ celebrity blogger Perez Hilton told MTV News, "It is a very gay song — unapologetically gay, in-your-face gay — but it's also a universal song that can relate to everyone."

In addition to all that, 'BTW' became the fastest-selling song in the history of iTunes, when it sold more than 1 million copies worldwide in just five days. Sales were no doubt propelled by the singer's various live performances of the song, most memorably her appearance at the 2011 Grammy Awards. It was there that the 25-year-old star arrived in an egg. The superstar has also been sharing the song with concertgoers on her Monster Ball Tour.

'Born This Way' not only made its mark onstage, but onscreen as well, with the premiere of its music video in late February. Keeping in line with her other unconventional vids, the seven-minute-plus clip features everything from outer-space to zombies in tuxedos to unicorns (not to mention a tongue-in-cheek nod to the Madonna controversy in which Gaga sports the star's iconic gap in her front teeth.

And as with anything that becomes part of the pop culture mold, parody is bound to follow. While 'Glee' pays tribute, 'Weird Al' Yankovic found his own way to pay homage. The 51-year-old singer created a silly spinoff of the song with his take on Gaga's onstage antics called 'Perform This Way.'

'Perform This Way' caused a bit of a stir, but not because of its jabs at Gaga. There was a bit of a misunderstanding between Gaga and Yankovic after he criticized her manager for denying his request to release his song. But as it turned out, Gaga had never heard the song in the first place.

Yankovic explained on his blog, 'Even though we assumed that Gaga herself was the one making the decision (because, well, that's what we were TOLD), he apparently made the decision completely on his own.' He later noted she 'loves the song.' Because that is, after all, the Gaga way.

'Glee'-Cap: Lady Gaga, Barbra Streisand Make The Gleeks Shed Insecurities: "

With Kurt back at McKinley, we're worried about the fate of 'Klaine.'
By Jim Cantiello

A scene from the 'Born This Way' episode of 'Glee'

Photo: Adam Rose/FOX

This week's special 90-minute 'Born This Way' episode of 'Glee' kind of didn't need to be 90 minutes long, and to be honest, we were a little taken aback by the way the show seemed to equate insecurities about being gay with insecurities about wearing glasses. But if that what it takes for them to do a flash-mob scene featuring 'Barbra Streisand,' we'll take it. Sing along with the lyrics below.

Come on, Gleeks!

Do you believe in plot?

Well, I got something to say about it,

And it goes a little something like this.

[To the tune of 'Born This Way']

Rachel gets smacked, has a broken nose,

Considers having a rhinoplasty.

It sparks a 90-minute episode

Of loving who you're meant to be.

She gets talked out of it when Finn reacts,

And a flash mob says, 'Girl, it's a mistake.'

That shopping mall scene was so much damn fun.

Hold up a minute, is that Drake?! [Shot of the dude on the escalator that looks a lot like Drake]

Kurt's back at McKinley, yay!

Gives New Directions cache.

'Glee' 's on the right track, babe,

Just don't forget about Klaine.

I won't dare tell you a lie

When Blaine sang Keane, oh, I cried.

'Glee' 's on the right track, babe,

Just don't forget about Klaine.

Oooh, Karovsky's super gay,

Checking out Sam's bootay,

Just don't you forget about Klaine!

Blaine's mouth opens all the way

Holy crap is his jaw OK?

Just don't you forget about Klaine!

'Glee' was a drag

Over prom queens.

No need for this to be 90!

'Glee' don't worry, I'm here to stay,

Even if I dis your way,

I love you, don't forget about Klaine!

NO NEED FOR THIS TO BE 90!

'Unpretty' with Quinn Fabray,

That duet made me hit replay!

I love you, don't forget about Klaine!

'Glee' was a drag

Over prom queens.

Santana was so frickin' mean.

'I'll be your beard to win a crown

And in the process take Quinn down!'

Lauren finds Quinn's secret past:

She used to have a giant ass,

Which according to 'Glee' is one in the same

As being flamboyantly gay.

[Jim rants.] Seriously, 'Glee'? You're going to equate Mr. Shue's 'butt chin' and Artie's poor eyesight, and Finn's inability to dance with homosexuality? And did anyone else find it weird that they sang 'Born This Way' but cut out the verse about actually being gay? I know I'm hard on you every week, 'Glee,' but I can't help it. I guess I was just born that way.

Chiddy's record-breaking rap and performances from Lupe Fiasco and Matt and Kim light up Las Vegas.

On Thursday night (April 28), MTV's first-ever O Music Awards took over Las Vegas. With performances and award presentations streamed from all over the world, the digital awards show recognized 'about every gigabyte of music activity known to man,' according to hosts (and rock duo) Matt and Kim.

The pair hosted the show from Vegas' famed Fremont Street and kicked off the O Music Awards with a two-song set before introducing Cee Lo Green, who logged online to present the Most Innovative Artist Award to Lady Gaga.

Gaga, who, according to Cee Lo, did 'the best job saying 'f--- you' to rules,' graciously accepted the O cube along with the award for Must Follow Artist on Twitter and told her following, 'To all the monsters watching, surge on.'

Chiddy Bang's Chidera 'Chiddy' Anamege used the O Music Awards as a platform to successfully beat the nine hour and 16 minute 'Longest Freestyle Rap' Guinness World Record with a time of nine hours, 18 minutes and 22 seconds. He celebrated the feat by debuting his brand-new single 'No One Like Me' to the Vegas crowd, complete with Mr. T, Kiss, Bret Michaels and Pee-wee Herman impersonators.

Performances by Lupe Fiasco and Foster the People were neatly laced into the awards show, but the topper was Mumford & Sons, along with Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Old Crow Medicine Show's Austin, Texas, hoedown.

Although he wasn't nominated for any awards, Justin Bieber inadvertently became a star of the show when Lil B's 'Justin Bieber' video was shown, pumping up fans for the Best NSFW Video Award that went to 30 Seconds to Mars' 'Hurricane.' Accepting the award in a bathroom (as they are currently on tour), Jared Leto seemed genuinely excited and thanked fans for the support.

Alex Goot, who won Best Fan Cover Award for his rendition of Britney Spears 'Hold It Against Me,' followed up his win by singing a sweet and softly sung cover of 'Don't Let Me Fall' by B.o.B.

Obviously no online awards show would be complete without the presence of pop-culture wunderkind Rebecca Black, who started her weekend early by 'holding it down' at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino to host the Fan Army Party. Encouraging viewers to vote for their Favorite Fan Army, it was the last award of the night and went to Tokio Hotel's Humanoids.

'I live halfway between reality and fantasy and that is who I am and that is what inspires me,' singer tells DeGeneres.

With less than a month until Born This Way hits stores, Lady Gaga is kicking her promotional circuit into high gear with a string of appearances. The latest gig on her calendar was a visit to the 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show,' which aired Thursday (April 28).

Wearing an oddly shaped hat, matching accessories and a midriff-revealing skirt, Gaga was met with roaring audience applause as she walked onto the set and sat with the host/comedian. After putting a new spin on her grueling work schedule by telling DeGeneres that she's 'quite excited to be tired,' the entertainer opened up about her forthcoming HBO concert special, 'Lady Gaga Presents the Monster Ball Tour,' in which cameras caught an emotional Gaga calling herself a loser.

'Well, in that moment, I was very excited and nervous,' the singer said of the candid footage, which surfaced online. 'That's a huge benchmark moment in my life. I'm 25 years old. I was asked to play Madison Square Garden, sold out five nights. Quite frankly, it's very overwhelming. Do I feel like a loser sometimes? Yes, of course I do. We all feel like losers sometimes.'

Still, despite her overwhelming success, Gaga later explained that she finds common ground with her legion of little monsters, saying, 'I feel misunderstood and I think we all feel misunderstood sometimes. I really celebrate my identity and urge you to feel impassioned by what is magical inside of you. I live halfway between reality and fantasy, and that is who I am and that is what inspires me.'

Later in the show, Mother Monster took to the 'Ellen' stage once again for a debut performance of her new single, 'Judas.' With a string of male dancers by her side, Gaga delivered a dance-filled number of the club-ready track in a blue latex ensemble. With choreography seemingly more difficult than in her usual performances, the singer showcased her best high-energy moves. As the music came to a close, she struck a pose before planting a kiss on the cheek of DeGeneres, who playfully replicated her stance.

If that wasn't enough, Lady Gaga, who received an on-air birthday phone call by DeGeneres just a few weeks ago, surprised the host with a cake to commemorate their three-year friendship. 'So we've known each other three years and these are some photos of us together,' Gaga said as she pointed to the elaborate cake with sparkler candles.

Lady Gaga's Born This Way Is 'Genuine To Her,' Producer Says: "

Fernando Garibay talks about working on the album, due May 23.
By Jocelyn Vena

When Lady Gaga released her Born This Way track listing Monday, 'Born This Way' producer Fernando Garibay's name was all over it — as was expected, considering he worked intimately with Gaga to produce the tracks that made the final cut. In late February, Garibay spoke to MTV News in detail about Mother Monster's vision for her highly anticipated release.

'She asked me to musically direct the album with her,' he explained. 'Basically, that means for me, that meant to push her vision out for these records, for the album, but every song is really special.

'Every song tells almost like a musical. It just kind of keeps going forward. We did this [dance] song that possibly might be the third single; it's called 'Marry the Night.' It's probably one of my favorite songs on the album. It tells about being yourself and individuality and never forgetting who you are.'

Garibay explained how he and Gaga, along with the other producers on the album such as RedOne and DJ White Shadow, worked on the album.

'What's interesting is that the great thing about dance songs is for me most of the time they start off as ballads and that's the approach I've been trying to keep going,' he said. 'We wrote songs, particularly Gaga wrote these songs, to live in a dance environment. Yeah, they're dance, but I think the whole thing, too, is that they're songs and genuine to her.'

Fans are excited to see what Gaga has up her always-evolving sleeve on this album. And while Garibay knows what it sounds like, he won't give away too many details other than the fact that he's really proud of it.

'I'm excited about the whole album. I'm proud of the way we got together and made this album,' he said. 'It's a collective of some cool people all trying to facilitate her and to explore her vision, her statement. I'm excited for albums to be albums again, and this is leading in that direction. ... I think the message, the big statement was obviously the single, and I think it's the single, 'Born This Way,' serves as an introduction to the album. Again, it's a statement about equality.'

The 'special edition' will have five more tracks. 'Born This Way Country Road Version,' 'Judas DJ White Shadow Remix,' 'Marry the Night Fernando Garibay Remix,' 'Scheibe DJ White Shadow Mugler' and 'Fashion of His Love Fernando Garibay Remix.'

DJ White Shadow spoke to MTV News earlier this year and about the album. 'I don't even know how to explain it. [Born This Way] is not a pop album; it's a pop masterpiece of music. If there was no category of pop music, you wouldn't call it pop music,' he said.

'She thinks of sh-- that I can't comprehend,' he added. 'It doesn't make sense to me, and I'm a creative person. ... Working with her is totally different than anyone else I've ever done anything with. She's the most hands-on person I've ever run into. She could walk into Steve Jobs' office and tell him he's doing Apple wrong, and he'd listen. As a producer, it's super cool to be with somebody who generally cares and is fully involved.'

Gaga also tweeted her excitement over the 'Judas' video. 'JUDASVIDEO PREMIERE 5.5.11 on E! 7/6c + 11:30/10c. Motorcycle Fellini PopArt FantasyFilm + Haus Directorial Debut,' she shared and tweeted an image from the video. In it, Gaga rides a motorcycle and leads a gang as they ride a highway.

Little monsters are just days away from the highly anticipated 'Judas' video premiere. With a version of the video to drop on 'American Idol' this week, another 'uncut' version will be premiere on 'E! News' on Thursday.

The video will debut at 7 p.m. and be shown again at 11:30 p.m. on the cable entertainment news program. The video is seven minutes long and was co-directed by Gaga and her longtime creative director Laurieann Gibson. Gaga will also chat about the video in an interview that airs with the premiere.

As expected, the video is filled with religious imagery that is sure to spark the usual amount of Gaga controversy and backlash. 'It's fantastic to have Gaga back at E! for the debut of 'Judas,' ' Suzanne Kolb, president of marketing, news and online for E! Entertainment and the Style Network said about the premiere. 'She's an incredible talent and pop culture icon and we're excited to work with her and Interscope once again to bring our viewers this highly anticipated premiere.'

As MTV News previously reported, Gaga will play Mary Magdalene and actor Norman Reedus will play the song's title character in the video.

'The video, in essence, suggests that forgiveness and betrayal are hand in hand,' Gaga said recently. 'The video puts destiny above all things and postures that the mistakes in your life are in fact not mistakes at all, they are just part of your overarching potential and your destiny.'

She went on to describe the video 'as a motorcycle Fellini movie, where the apostles are revolutionaries in a modern-day Jerusalem. And I play Mary Magdalene, leading them into the town where we meet Jesus, and I will leave the rest for you to see.'

Lady Gaga 'Judas' Video: What Should Fans Expect?

Lady Gaga 'Judas' Video: What Should Fans Expect?: "

'It's not meant to be a biblical lesson,' Gaga says of the clip, which premieres Thursday (May 5).

Thursday may be Cinco de Mayo, but as it turns out it's also Cinco de Gaga. May 5 is the day that Lady Gaga releases her video for 'Judas.' Fans are eager to see what Gaga and her creative director, Laurieann Gibson, who co-directed the clip, have in store for the latest entry into Gaga's videography.

The video is certainly bound to have some people responding to the religious undertones included in it, but Gaga points out that the clip isn't meant to cause an uproar. 'I don't view the video as a religious statement. I view it as social statement. I view it as a cultural statement. It's a metaphor,' she told E! News in a new interview. 'It's not meant to be a biblical lesson.'

An uncut, seven-minute version of the 'Judas' video will officially premiere at 7 p.m. ET on E!, and Gaga reveals more in a conversation that will be shown along with the clip. But if fans can't wait for more tidbits and images from the video, no worries — Gaga is giving another first look on her Twitter.

Mother Monster tweeted an image of a woman's rosary-bead-covered hand (presumably hers) holding a gun, with lipstick peeking out of the barrel, up to the face of a man. While the entire face of the man can't be seen, it's safe to say that it's actor Norman Reedus, who plays the Judas character in the clip. Accompanying the photo is a message that reads, 'THE JUDAS KISS: a betrayal of a prophecy fulfilled?'

Another image also popped up on the Internet that appears to be from a dance sequence from the video. It looks like Gaga is in an alleyway that seems to be somewhere in Latin America, wearing biker-girl chic clothes (bandana, leather), surrounded by dancers

In another recent interview, Gaga revealed that she plays a Mary Magdalene character in the video, and that the clip was in part inspired by a famous Italian filmmaker. 'Well, I want to allow the video to speak for itself, but I will say that the theme of the video and the way that I wanted to aesthetically portray the story was as a motorcycle [Federico] Fellini movie, where the apostles are revolutionaries in a modern-day Jerusalem,' she said. 'But it's meant more to celebrate faith than it is to challenge it.'

Lady Gaga Unveils Bilingual 'Americano' In Mexico: "

New Born This Way song has Gaga 'living on the edge of the law.'

Lady Gaga picked the perfect place to unveil yet another song from her upcoming Born This Way album. During a show in Guadalajara, Mexico, on Tuesday night, Mother Monster did a slow, sexy flamenco seduction at the piano as she pulled back the curtain on the funky bilingual outlaw love tune 'Americano.'

A YouTube video of the performance shows Gaga sitting at a piano, playing the song's seductive Latin melody and opening with some lines in Spanish about her rebel spirit: 'Mis canciones son de la revolucion/ Mi corazon late por mi generacion,' she sings at the outset, which translates to 'My songs are of the revolution/ My heart beats for my generation.'

The next bit will surely cause some serious discussion in Gagaland, as the singer teases, 'If you love me/ We can marry on the West Coast/ On a Wednesday/ En el verano o en agosto (in the summer or in August).'

The emphatic chorus has her repeating the phrase 'I don't speak your language, oh no,' with mentions of Jesus ('Jesus Cristo') and the titular 'Americano,' before she busts into a section where she growls 'Aaaahhh America, Americano' repeatedly.

By the end, Gaga seems ready to hop on the controversial motorcycle on the cover of Born This Way and hit the road for some 'Born to be Wild' action, as she warns, 'Don't you try to catch me/ No, no, no/ I'm living on the edge of/ Living on the edge of the law, law, law.'

After mostly performing on piano, the band kicks in, joining her for a full-on Latin jazz breakdown to bring the tune home.

Lady Gaga's 'Judas' Video Hits The Net

Lady Gaga's 'Judas' Video Hits The Net: "

The clip, set to premiere tonight on E!, leaked early ... and, as Gaga put it, it's 'a celebration of faith.'
By James Montgomery

Well, it's here ... eight hours ahead of schedule. On Thursday morning (May 5), Lady Gaga's hotly anticipated 'Judas' video premiered, though probably not in the way that Mother Monster (and the folks at E!) had hoped it would: It leaked.

Originally set to be unveiled on the network during prime time on Thursday (and then again at 11:30 p.m.), 'Judas' got a bit of an advance screening, quickly making the rounds on the Internet while the Little Monsters squealed with delight (or, alternately, expressed their outrage at its leaking). And despite pretty much everything Gaga had said about the video — that it was "a motorcycle Fellini film," that it portrayed "a betrayal of a prophecy fulfilled" — it is very much a pure pop clip, albeit one that looks great and is sure to earn the ire of a few folks on the religious right.

An arty reimagining of the betrayal of Jesus Christ by Judas Iscariot, the video sees Gaga as Mary Magdalene, riding along with Christ and his apostles, who are decked out in studded leathers and set atop roaring motorcycles. They cruise through — as Gaga put it — "a modern-day Jerusalem," with Judas tellingly racing ahead of the pack. At one point, they stop at an "Electric Chapel," where Gaga attempts to warn Christ — who, with his cornrows and golden crown of thorns, is far from traditional — of his apostle's impending betrayal. Whether or not he chooses to listen is largely up to the viewer, as the clip then segues into an extended sequence rife with religious iconography ... and, of course, dance.

And though it remains to be seen if the highly touted "uncut" version of "Judas" — which will still premiere tonight on E! at 7 p.m. ET — contains more controversial material, it's difficult to see why some people would have a problem with the video: Sure, Jesus looks different, and Gaga is playing Magdalene (certainly one of the most controversial figures in the Bible), but its imagery isn't nearly as sacred/profane as that of the 'Alejandro' clip (Gaga does not, to the best of our knowledge, ingest rosary beads here), and in fact, with its artistic interpretations of foot washing and Boticelli's 'The Birth of Venus,' it's almost more of a tribute to the pop sensation's Catholic upbringing ... a fact she hit on when she said the video '[is] meant more to celebrate faith than it is to challenge it.'

Leave it to Gaga to push the boundaries while remaining faithful to the source material. 'Judas' is, at its sacred heart, an artistic explosion contained within the confines of a traditional pop clip. And if it's meant to be a celebration, well, you should probably start celebrating ... before the clip gets pulled, of course.

Lady Gaga Says 'Judas' Video Isn't 'An Attack On Religion': "

While Lady Gaga's 'Judas' video leaked on Thursday afternoon (May 5), the clip got its official premiere on E! later that night. Gaga sat down with E! News to chat about the funky, pop-culture-influenced clip revolving around a love triangle between Mary Magdalene (Gaga), Judas (Norman Reedus) and Jesus (Rick Gonzalez).

Fashion, longing and betrayal rule in the video, directed by Lady Gaga and her creative director, Laurieann Gibson. (The version that appeared on E! was billed as 'uncut,' but it didn't differ from the leaked version.)

As is expected with anything Gaga does, the video will have people talking. But, Gaga notes, the video isn't meant to cause controversy.

'In my opinion, the only controversial thing about this video is that I'm wearing Christian Lacroix and Chanel in the same frame,' she joked, adding, 'This video is not meant to be an attack on religion. I respect and love everyone's beliefs. I'm a religious and spiritual person who's obsessed with religious art. I'm obsessed with it.

'I believe I was put on this earth to cause a ruckus,' she continued. 'At the beginning, when I came out with 'Just Dance,' I couldn't get an interview. ... I couldn't get on the radio. I just want to keep making stuff that's great and thought-provoking.'

So what does Gaga think of the video? 'Honestly, it came out more incredible than I thought it would. It's so beautiful. It's like a fresco come to life. We went on set and we just shot the sh-- out of it.'

Lady Gaga Performs New Version Of 'You And I' On 'Oprah'

Lady Gaga Performs New Version Of 'You And I' On 'Oprah': "

Gaga played a 'high-heel' piano on Thursday's episode to delight of fellow guest Johnny Depp.
By Jocelyn Vena

Leave it to Lady Gaga to say good-bye to Oprah Winfrey in the most over-the-top possible way. Gaga appeared on Thursday's episode (May 5) of Winfrey's show (which also featured Johnny Depp) and put on nothing less than a spectacle.

Sitting atop a very high stool, Gaga — in a red leather blazer, floppy mask-like hat and see-through leopard bodysuit — played a piano made out of a wire high-heel structure. She began with an acoustic, piano-driven version of "Born This Way," and then removed the hat as a synth kicked in for a less organic version of 'You and I.'

This version was more amped up than the one she usually plays in concert, complete with electric guitar and Oprah shout-outs. 'We got a whole lot of money, but still pay rent/ 'Cause you can't buy a house in Heaven/ There's only three men I served my whole life/ It's my dad and Nebraska and Jesus Christ,' she sang, debuting some new 'You and I' lyrics.

The performance seemed to please Depp, who was sitting next to Oprah clapping as Gaga performed. After she was done, she got off the stool and shared, 'We designed the outfit, but my sister, who's 19 years old, she's a fashion student and she created this structure of a high heel and I made it into a piano, so surprise!'

Gaga later tweeted about the latest version of 'You And I,' saying that it would be included on Born This Way, set to drop on May 23. "I performed on OPRAH today the album Version of Yoü and I," she wrote. 'Also performed by Haley on AmericanIdol last night!'

Lady Gaga's 'Judas' Video: A Pop-Culture Cheat Sheet

Lady Gaga's 'Judas' Video: A Pop-Culture Cheat Sheet: "

Gaga's latest clip mixes the sacred with the profane and includes a nod to Marlon Brandon too — here are all the references!
By James Montgomery

Love her or hate her, you've got to admit that Lady Gaga knows how to make a music video. Her clips always have been a mixture of high-art posturing and knowing nods to pop-culture ephemera, and 'Judas' is no different. While it's not filled with blink-and-you'll-miss-it references like 'Telephone' or odes to German Expressionism like 'Alejandro,' there's still plenty to wrap your eyes around in 'Judas,' offering a mixture of the sacred and the profane. Gaga merges mentions to religious iconography and cult biker flicks (and pretty much everything in between) in the video, and so, we decided to take notes. Here's our 'Judas' pop-culture cheat sheet, alphabetized for your perusing pleasure ... you can't tell your Botticellis from your Brandos without it.

'The Birth of Venus': Iconic 15th century painting by Sandro Botticelli depicting the Roman goddess Venus emerging from the sea. Art historians have interpreted the work in many ways — a contemplation on physical and spiritual beauty, a celebration of the divine, a "wedding painting" meant to, uh, inspire the bride and groom — but in "Judas," when Gaga strikes a pose similar to the painting, she seems to be paying tribute to all three.

'Electric Chapel': Gaga has said that she created her Monster Ball Tour so that her fans 'would have a place to go ... a safe place ... an 'Electric Chapel.' ' It's also the name of a song on her upcoming Born This Way album. In 'Judas,' the Chapel is reimagined as a biker bar, where LG attempts to warn Jesus about Judas' impending betrayal.

Eye of Horus: An ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, closely associated with the goddess Wadjet. In 'Judas,' Gaga wears eye makeup that recalls the symbol, which makes sense, since, as Mary Magdalene, she attempts to protect Christ from Judas' backstabbing.

Foot Washing: A religious rite observed by several Christian denominations. In the Bible, Christ washed the feet of his apostles before the Last Supper, the final meal he shared before his crucifixion. Gaga washes Christ's feet in 'Judas,' perhaps symbolizing his forthcoming demise, something that Judas certainly had a hand in.

Golden Gun: Fictional weapon from the 1974 James Bond film 'The Man With the Golden Gun,' and a totally kick-ass sidearm in the 'GoldenEye' video game. Gaga wields a similar piece in 'Judas,' though hers doesn't contain bullets; instead, it's a rather grandiose tube of lipstick, which she smears on Judas' face.

The Kiss of Judas: In the Bible, it is Judas' final act of betrayal — he kisses Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane after the Last Supper as a way of identifying him to the soldiers who have come to arrest him. The same scene is played out in "Judas," as the betrayer plants a pair of kisses on Christ's cheeks.

Mary Magdalene: A disciple of Jesus and one of the most controversial characters in the Bible, early scholars painted her as a repentant prostitute, while in the 20th and 21st century, she has come to be celebrated as a patron saint of women's preaching and ministry. Not surprisingly, Gaga takes on the role of Magdalene, reimagining her as a badass chick with a penchant for chola fashion.

Norman Reedus: American actor/model known for his roles in 'The Boondock Saints' and, more recently, AMC's 'The Walking Dead.' In 'Judas,' he plays the titular apostle with gleefully evil aplomb.

Rick Gonzalez: American character actor who has appeared in dozens of films, most notably 'Coach Carter' and, uh, 'Old School,' where he played 'Spanish.' In 'Judas,' he's given a gangster makeover as Jesus Christ.

Sacred Heart: Religious icon that symbolizes Christ's divine love for humanity. Often depicted as bleeding and wrapped in thorns, in 'Judas,' Gaga can be seen wearing a Sacred Heart on her wardrobe.

Simon Peter: One of Christ's 12 apostles, also known as Saint Peter, he is regarded by the Catholic Church as the first pope. Before the Last Supper, when Christ washed his apostles' feet, Peter originally refused, claiming he was not worthy. During Christ's arrest, Peter sliced the ear of a servant of the High Priest who had come to seize him. In 'Judas,' Gaga singles out Peter at the 'Electric Chapel,' patting him on the back.

'The Wild One': 1953 biker film starring a young Marlon Brando as the leader of the Black Rebels Motorcycle Club. That leather-clad gang of ne'er-do-wells seems to be the direct inspiration for Christ's biker-apostles in 'Judas.'

Can you spot any other literary, historic or pop-culture references in Lady Gaga's 'Judas' video? Tell us in the comments.

Lady Gaga To Mentor On 'American Idol'

Lady Gaga To Mentor On 'American Idol': "

By Gil Kaufman

After having Haley Reinhart perform her as-yet-unreleased Born This Way tune 'You and I' on 'American Idol' this week, Lady Gaga will return the favor next Wednesday, when she drops in to serve as the latest superstar guest mentor on the show.

Like previous star advice givers will.i.am and Sheryl Crow, Gaga happens to be in lead mentor Jimmy Iovine's Interscope Geffen A&M artist stable. The singer, whose album is out on May 23, will be dropping in on the highest-rated program on TV as the buzz is peaking on her just-released video for the song 'Judas,' which premiered on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Gaga will add yet another accolade to her many high-water marks when she wraps her nearly two-year Monster Ball tour in Mexico City on Friday night (May 6). According to Billboard magazine, once the final monster claw has been tossed in the air in Mexico City, Gaga will have put the lid on the biggest ever tour by a debut headlining artist. Since launching in November 2009, the tour's 200 shows have grossed $227.4 million while playing to 2.5 million people.

Depending on how other major tours do this year, Monster Ball could end up being one of the highest-grossing tours of all time, according to the magazine.

'We're humbled by the tremendous success of the Monster Ball tour,' Lady Gaga manager Troy Carter said. 'The reasonably priced tickets, coupled with a great live experience, led it to being a must-see event.'

Lady Gaga's 'Judas' Video: The Final Scene Explained

Lady Gaga's 'Judas' Video: The Final Scene Explained: "

'The video is so good, it's an individual interpretation,' co-director Laurieann Gibson tells MTV News.
By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Matt Elias

Photo: Getty Images

There are many memorable moments in Lady Gaga's 'Judas' video, but perhaps none is as unexpected as the final scene. Gaga, dressed in a very big wedding dress, is stoned to death.

Gaga has done religion before; her 'Alejandro' video was filled with religious iconography, causing quite a hubbub last year. Now, perhaps her most moving statement in this religious-themed video is her own death at the end.

'The video is so good, it's an individual interpretation, and as for me, personally, the dress, the wedding dress, you're the bride, Christ is the bridegroom, and to marry hope, faith, inspiration is ultimately the idea that no matter what anybody says, your purity is in your heart,' co-director Laurieann Gibson told MTV News about the finale. 'There's always tomorrow. There's always an opportunity to find peace, and it's pure. She's pure. You're pure. I'm pure. And the stones, they're just from people who judge, and if you're gonna throw one, then make sure your closet is clean.'

The video was shot last month in Los Angeles, and Gibson shared some of the inside details of the shoot with MTV News. 'We actually shot the video on the Universal lot, which was amazing,' she recalled. ' ... To be theater rats and dance kids from New York, for us to get to a [studio] lot was really magical. We art-directed it, so it was actually bare, and we were able to create 'New Jerusalem' and inspire the idea of the biblical inspiration but create it new.

'Never stop moving the lens, never lock off, complimenting her with the way she moves,' Gibson added about directing the video. 'Making it graceful when she's strong in her movement, and I particularly loved the stoning scene.'

Gibson revealed that there was a concert scene that didn't make the final cut of the video and said they ended up with an overwhelming amount of material. 'There's so much in the video,' she said. 'We got everything we wanted. We actually got more than we could edit. It was very difficult to decide the direction of the edit.'

So how does the video fit in to Gaga's evolution as an artist? 'It's the beginning of another journey,' Gibson offered. ' I think it's the start of a more powerful and effortless execution and design of a girl with a huge destiny.'

Lady Gaga's Stylist Captured 'Swagga' For 'Judas' Video

Lady Gaga's Stylist Captured 'Swagga' For 'Judas' Video: "

'Nicola Formichetti is the most brilliant man in fashion,' gushes Gaga's creative director, Laurieann Gibson.
By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Matt Elias

On Thursday, after her 'Judas' video premiered, Lady Gaga laughed off any controversy she might receive from the Biblical-themed clip. 'In my opinion, the only controversial thing about this video is that I'm wearing Christian Lacroix and Chanel in the same frame,' she joked with E! News.

The fashions featured in the 'Judas' clip are certainly far from controversial. They are over-the-top, romantic, tough and truly couture. Gaga wears fanciful dresses, biker jackets, crowns, heavy crosses, flowing capes and Victorian-cut silhouettes, as seen in the video's final scene, where she dons a big, white wedding gown.

The designs were all styled by Gaga's longtime friend and Mugler creative director, Nicola Formichetti, who seamlessly combines old-fashioned garb and modern styling for a look that is truly unique to the world in which Gaga's Mary Magdalene character, her two loves (Jesus and Judas) and her apostles live.

The style credits for the video include designers at the top of any fashionista's list. With vintage Christian Lacroix (barroom outfit, wedding dress), Mugler (purple catsuit, gloves), Alexander McQueen (boots) and, yes, even the Haus of Gaga (cape, velvet undergarments), Gaga is really paying homage to the apostles of the fashion bible with her, at times, very literal (there are lots of crosses) take on Biblical fashion.

Laurieann Gibson, who co-directed 'Judas' with Gaga, explains that Formichetti perfectly captured the look the two had envisioned for the video.

'Nicola Formichetti is the most brilliant man in fashion and I must tell you I love him and adore him,' Gibsonshe told MTV News. 'And, my God, the clothing! The idea when we spoke [we told him], 'Nicola, it's a metal gospel.' You know, for me, Nicola is just brilliant at executing what it looks like in the clothing and the swagga to make everyone look so cool, he did a great job.'

When the 'Born This Way' video dropped earlier this year, Gibson expressed similar warm, fuzzy feelings for one of the most vital members of the Haus of Gaga. 'We found Nicola and he just got it. So when we're on set, the Haus is such a collaboration, and Nicola is inspired and loves the passion of the dance,' she said. 'He is fashion, and him and Gaga together are magic. To see them push and pull, it's just a real process. It's like the Factory. It's very [Andy] Warhol how we operate.'

Lady Gaga Was 'Spontaneous' On 'Judas' Set, Norman Reedus Says: "

Judas himself opens up to MTV News about the just-released video.
By Jocelyn Vena

Photo: MTV News

When Norman Reedus, who played the title character in Lady Gaga's 'Judas' video, stopped by the MTV News offices Friday (May 6), he told us Gaga had everyone on their toes on set — in the best way possible.

'I like the lipstick part, because that was sort of last minute,' the 'Walking Dead' star said. 'She just jumped up [and was like], 'I have this great idea. I'm gonna put lipstick in front of you, and right before you kiss Jesus, I'm going to pull out this gun, and I'm gonna pull the trigger, and then a lipstick's [gonna come out], and then I'm going to put it on you like I'm enabling the kiss!'

'She looked at me like, 'Is that cool?' ' he continued. 'And I'm like, 'Rad.' And we did it. I liked how she was so spontaneous.'

Reedus' other favorite scene is the opening shot, where Judas, Mary Magdalene (Gaga) and Jesus (Rick Gonzalez) are all on the road with their biker-gang disciples. 'We got there the first day, and we all took motorcycle lessons [in a parking lot and] one of the disciples trashed his motorcycle up against the curb, which was hysterical,' he recalled. 'So we did that, and then they cut off part of the freeway and actually cops would fly by us and section off the road. So we rode in a pack.'

While Gaga didn't actually have to drive one of the bikes, he said her stunts were quite awe-inspiring. 'She wasn't driving the bike, but she was riding on the back. ... We were flying down the freeway, and she got up on the back ... and was way off the back of the seat and hanging backwards and stuff,' he said. 'Which was a daredevil move; it was pretty intense. She had all these jewels all over her, and every once and a while, you could see behind her bike just a trail of jewels dropping on the freeway. It was kind of magic.'

Since Reedus has had about 24 hours to think about the video, he said it gets his seal of approval. 'My reaction when I saw it? I was excited to see my motorcycle in it first off, 'cause that's my bike that I ride, and I thought it was really good,' he said. 'I thought that [co-director] Laurieann [Gibson] did a really good job and Gaga did a good job, and I know there's a lot of work put into it, and I could see all the work on the screen, so I liked it.'

Lady Gaga Gave Rick Gonzalez 'Freedom' To Play Jesus His Way In 'Judas': "

Actor tells MTV News that co-directors Gaga and Laurieann Gibson 'gave me a lot of confidence.'
By Matt Elias

Rick Gonzalez

Photo: MTV News

Just a day after Lady Gaga's video for 'Judas' debuted, fans and foes alike are still buzzing with reactions. That includes actor/rapper Rick Gonzalez, who plays Jesus in the video. For Gonzalez, the experience was somewhat surreal, beginning with his initial casting.

'I'm sitting in my house, I get a call from my manager, [and] she says, 'Lady Gaga wants you to be in the video,' ' Gonzalez recalled to MTV News. 'I'm like, 'Oh, cool. Lady Gaga who?' and she's like, 'Rick, the Lady Gaga.' And I'm like, 'Wow, OK.' And the first thing that comes to my mind and what I tell her is, like, 'How does she know I even exist?'

'They send a treatment over and I read it, and I was like, 'Wow, I'm honored to be even a part of it.' I really love the story and what she did and [where] she was thinking of going with it and I was really honored to be a part of it. So I was really stoked.'

Once on set, Gonzalez said it felt more like a film than a music video.

'Laurieann Gibson, who directed along with Gaga — I mean, they really had great shots and they had this amazing huge production set up for the video," Gonzalez said. "It really did feel that way. We were on a bike, on a flatbed truck, and I have Gaga behind me, and we're like moving around the lot, just running around. So it was definitely grand in that scheme."

While Gonzalez had the honor of manning Gaga's motorcycle in the opening shots, he was relieved that he didn't have to actually drive it for the wide shots.

'Those shots, that's not me riding,' the actor revealed. 'So the shots with me and her, we're literally being dragged on a truck. I didn't want the responsibility of dropping a bike with Gaga on it.'

The actor developed newfound respect for Gaga after witnessing just how hands-on she was with all aspects of the clip. But there was one area that Gaga and co-director Gibson ceded to Gonzalez.

'The beautiful thing about playing Jesus in the video was they really gave me the freedom to find it in my own way and they gave me a lot of confidence in that, and I was really impressed in Laurieann's direction and just giving me the space and letting me find it,' Gonzalez said.
